 iPod Ice-link Question

My wife got me an iPod Mini for my Roadster and I can't wait to get it running properly as I am using the FM modulator now and it sucks at best!

After doing a little research, it looks like the Ice-link is the way to by far if you are keeping the factory Business CD which I am. A couple of questions for those in the know:

1. Which is the better way to go, the trunk CD changer interface version or the back of headunit version that would place the unit in the glove box? If it controls the power and all the functions, I would rather have the unit in the trunk then the glovebox.

2. Is the power to the iPod switched on and off with the radio so you don't have to do it manually?

3. Anywhere to get a better price then direct-I think it is currently $200.

Thanks for any help!

In addition to the Ice-Link, Monster and others are starting to market these adapters. Our choices are expected to multiply shortly.

If you mean you'd like to put the iPod in the trunk, this is a really bad idea, especially in an S54. The operating temperature range of the iPod is 32F to 95F, and the non-operating (powered off) range is -4F to 113F. You'll cook your iPod in the trunk. You want it in the cabin somewhere. Mine's going in my driver's side cargo net (which I bought from LeatherZ) until I make a dock.

I'd post further IceLink questions to this thread in the Audio forum:
