Unbelievable! 1st year e90's have quirks

I ventured over to the e90 site and it was amazing how many 1st year model owners are having things go wrong with their cars and now complaining and threatening lemon law action.

What the hell would one expect? It's an age old teaching that new models have problems and it takes a few runs (years) to sort them out. People are flipping out over these things.

What did you expect? That BMW got it perfect?

That's why smart money would rather buy a 2005 e46 with known short-comings than the latest and greatest new model with average lease/fianance rates these days. Just my opinion..

I've had my E90 for almost 3 months now and it has been flawless. Granted if I did have problems, I would accept them as a consequence of me buying a first year vehicle. It's a tradeoff for me; I wanted the latest and greatest coming from an '01 325Ci but was willing to accept that there may be issues.

I have had problems with my E90 - not that many really - just two. I've had my car for four weeks now, and during that time, it's been in the shop seven days total. Mostly though, my problems have been minor - and the real problems that I've had have been with the service center. The techs aren't trained on fixing the E90 yet, so they're guessing how to fix things mostly. But I'm not upset. My personal situation dictated that I buy a new car this year. I could have avoided the BMW, but I felt it drove the best of the bunch. So I accept the quirks and problems and move on. I'd like to strangle the tech that works on my car from time to time, but he's learning too. No reason to get upset. It's all good, and they'll know how to fix my car sooner or later. It's a hassle to bring it in for service, but at least they've given me 330i loaners so far. Fun Fun Fun to drive like rented mules...!!!

That's one thing I don't like about buying new 1st model year cars, the techs are very rarely trained and don't know a lot about them. I'm considering an E90 M3 but I won't buy the 1st year, maybe the 2nd, most likely 3rd.

just wondering, would the larger center's have trained tech's sooner, or at least a couple of them as compared to hte smaller centers?

Not to mention the tremendous amount of electronics in the thing. When you have a new model with a dozen electronic items and another with 5,000 which one do you think might have a higher chance of experiencing problems? No matter how thoroughly you test, it will take a couple of model years until all possible flaws are found and corrected...
