Anyone familiar with the glove box CD changer?
I just acquired, through the cleanup of the BMW dealership that my wife works at, a like-new 6 disk CD changer that was originally slated for, among other cars, all '99 M and Z3 Coupes/Roadsters.
The installation instructions can be found at http://www.circlebmw.com/service/access/0004616.htm
From a brief search of the web, it appears to be made by Nakamichi and can be used with any I-Bus equipped car. It goes by both of the following part numbers: 82 11 0 004 616 and 82 11 0 009 836 (this is the part number on the label of my unit).
Is this changer worth anything? Does anyone have one installed? It looks very nice and appears to have been designed to fit in-dash for other OEM applications. It has all of the brackets to attach it within the glove box, although the instructions seem to indicate that the glove box needs trimming to make it fit.
Thanks for any info.

I'd prefer to see it go to someone who will attempt a project with it rather than someone who will just turn it around on EBay. It'll work in several cars other than the Z3 as well. I don't see why it wouldn't fit in the location where the standard changer goes, but I can't say for sure... I don't really know how it operates.
As near as I can tell, a customer came into the dealership and wanted it exchanged out for a trunk mounted unit. It looks brand new, has brackets, but no manuals. No cables either, but I don't think it did when new either. It has apparently been sitting on the shelf for a number of years with the intent of someday putting it in a customer's car. It even comes in an original BMW CD changer box... just not the one meant for this changer.
If it doesn't sell, it'll go into the bin with all my other past car stereo parts and will never see the light of day again. I have no use for it as both of my I-Bus equipped cars are already addressed.
