Check Engine
Hi,
I noticed Check engine light for my 528i 1998 model. My mechanic advice me there is problem with emissions and need to be replaced and the quote is $480. I do have capital management warranty till end of next year ? do they cover these charges. Also SRS light is also on - which was estimated for $250. Please advice me on these problems.

Thanks a Bunch | You may wish to check the emissions equipment warranty, usually in the owners manual. IIRC, standard emissions warranties are 8 years/80,000 miles as required by law. I believe that CA cars are warrantied for less, though, so definitely check the warranty literature that came with your car.
