I have a 90 325i convertible whose top has certainly seen better days. I priced a new top at $1800 so to save a little money I have found a used top for $350 (including hardware). Anyway, this used top has a few minor blemished that may be easy to patch up. But what kind of material or adhesive would I use on a cloth top? Gotta admit that saving $1500 is very tempting and perhaps worth the second effort. Any comments would be appreciated.

Well I have a 1191 325i Convertible and I put a new top for only $800.00 and it works awesome. I just went to a custom shop in Palos Verdes, CA and had him do it. It was totally worth it and only cost pennies compared to others.

Don't think I forgot cause I didn't. I have going to go through my receipts this weekend and I promise I will post it. Yes my car is an automatic but, the button I won't open the flap in the back cause there is not shocks back there so I do it manually and place it just right in there. I have seen a lot of the automatic break down and scrunch up the top and the window as well. Do you have any pics of your car you could send me just curious. I could send you some of mine so you can see how nice of a job he did.
Thanks, ~Craig
