 PCD versus ED

Having done E.D. last year, all I can say is what an easy and pleasant experience it was to schedule and go to Europe to pick up a car.

Trying to schedule and finalize plans for PCD pick-up sucks. I couldn't get my first PCD pick-up date and instead had one assigned at a very inconvenient time of the month and season. Then, I get a letter saying that I shouldn't schedule travel plans until 14 days before the scheduled date. Ever try to buy plan tickets that close to departure? Can you say no discount?? Even the people on the phone from PCD have an attitude.

I'm amazed at how great an experience E.D. was last year. You would think getting paperwork and visas and scheduling, etc... would be hard to coordiante when going overseas. It was not. A simple trip a couple of hundred miles away has become quite a pain in the neck!

So far, it sucks.

Relax. I did a PCD this year and it was outstanding. I had a great time and was well taken care of. I did an X5 and the course was a blast. You should enjoy as well. Don't let first impressions bother you. Everyone there looked like they were having a lot of fun and learning a lot as well. Good luck!

Also, my salesman scheduled everything and I had very little to do. Aou might follow-up there as that may be the source of your problem.

I did it earlier this year and it was fantastic! You can still get good rates 14 days in advance, (Once you get the letter of confirmation). I was treated like a VIP the whole time. Just don't let this ruin your experience.. you will have a blast!
