Is it a fact that BMW cars are costly in maintenance? compared to what?
Is there a different in cost between each series (3er, 5er, ...) and also inside
the series (325,330, 330xi, ...

"Is a BMW expensive to repair" question do a search here, someone asks that question at least once a week.

Second, generally the more expensive the car the more expensive it will be to repair. High end cars tend to use highly engineered expensive parts, plus higher priced cars tend to have more accessories and options that can break down.

On thing to remember is BMW has a 4 year repair and maintenance warranty, that covers 99% of the car, the only thing I can think of that is not covered is tires and fluid top offs between scheduled services.

the way I look at it is that no other cars offer free maint for the first 50K miles....so the money that you save upfront more than makes up for costs later on.

Has BMW stretched out the maintenance intervals too much? I plan to change my oil at 2,000 miles following break in and then every 7,500 miles. I think intervals of 15,000 are too great and that BMW has done this in support of its free maintenance policy, not because it's a good thing to do for the cars.

This is not an unwarranted conclusion, but if so, why are they changing brake fluid every two years?
