It's too damn bad that BMW doesn't read / interact with the men and women who frequent these boards. They could learn one hell of a lot.
I've been a loyal customer, just as many of you have, and you would think they would like to know why we're unhappy and why I've probably bought my last one.
FYI, I have owned 15, count 'em 15, BMW's in the last 30 years, and the local dealers and their people know that I'm very unhappy, but that fact seems to go no where in the organization. I hate to be taken for granted but, amazingly, no one from BMW has ever asked to talk to me about what I buy, why I buy it and why I am increasingly unhappy with their products.
In summary, BMW has lost its way! I find it hard to believe but my next daily driver may come from Japan...

Can you list the BMWs you've owned? I thought I had a lot -- but only 6, total.

I find it hard to believe but my next daily driver may come from Japan... | Perhaps BMW doesnt feel the need to interact with a board like this to find out why people are unhappy, because looking at the sales figures, the majority of people are NOT unhappy. You have owned 15 BMWs. Perhaps BMW thinks that they got more than their expected return out of you as a customer and have no problem with you buying a japanese car.
I think if unhappiness were reflected in the sales figures, then you would see some change. But things seem to be going quite well for them.
Heck, I'm more than happy with the 3 that I've owned. And I intend to buy more
