Can I take my roadster to one of the jiffy lube places for an oil change? Would they do just as good of a job or should I go to the dealership?

I'm no pro, but... Far as the oil change goes the dealer will have the proper filter and oil for your car. I'd check the owners manual for the recommended oil type, not just the weight, and then see if 'Jiffy-Lube' or other place carries the correct type. I don't know about your car but newer BMW's use a certain type of synthetic oil they may not carry.
Also, you might run a search on this forum for 'oil' or 'oil changes' and see if you get any info that helps. I know there's some informed people here on this subject.

Can you take it to a Jiffy-lube like splace.... Yes. Should you.... NO!!!!!!! If you don't want to do it yourself, then find a good independent BMW mechanic to do it. They'll normally charge decently less to do it than the dealer.

If you don't know of a good independent, take your car to the dealer. I can get a oil/filter change for 60 bucks at my BMW dealer.
Never take a BMW to Jiffy Lube.

Boycott Jiffy Lube. They stripped the threads off the oil pan of my sisters car with the oil drain plug because they were using an impact wrench. The drain plug wouldnt come out and she had to buy a 600$ oil pan from VW. She only found out when she took it to a dealer for the next one. Seriously, go to an independant mechanic, if not a dealer and find someone who looks like they care, not someone who looks like they got the job through their Parole Officer and doesnt give a rat's @$$.
