Bluetooth For 2003 X5
I know this Bluetooth topic has been beat to death... but I cant find any posts on my problem... I have a 2003 X5 with the premium package. It comes equipped with the buttons and speaker/mic, etc... my phone is the Treo 650 PDA bluetooth phone. I tried to pair it and nothing happened. So I took it to the BMW dealership. They said that I still need parts for the Bluetooth which thru them will cost me just under $300. I thought that since the X5 Premium package came with bluetooth it would be already good to go but apparently not. Does anyone know exactly what parts I am lacking and if there is a place to get them other than the BMW dealer?? PLEASE HELP.

| | Reply » Bluetooth For 2003 X5 | I have an X3, not an X5, but I believe the following holds for both:
Unless someone retro-fitted a new TCU (telecom module), your MY 2003 or 2004 vehicle did not come with Bluetooth (at least not in US models). There are new TCU's available, but you have to pay to puchase and install. You'll also have to decide whether you want to replace the BMW Assist (if it was standard in your X5) or keep it and add the BT. This affects both cost and function. Look for many threads here. Also check X5 World, which has good BT links.
All this assumes you want the BMW BT. There are other after-market suppliers, but the degree of integration with the X5 controls varies widely.
