A "Club Sport" spec has been available for a while on six-cylinder petrol coupes. It consists of a shorter throw shift, a bling wing, splitters and some 20 kg less sound deadening. (This partly makes up for the weight of all the other stuff they added to it ).

No lightweight wheels, no bigger brakes, no LSD, no shorter ratio, no close-ratio box, no track-ready suspension, no front harnesses. You do get some nice "Club Sport" badges and pretty paint, though.

The search tool will probably help you - it's been discussed before. You will also find plenty of references on various UK boards, where the Club Sport spec is generally derided - it was pulled from sale last year.

It may be that BMW NA has specified a different "Club Sport" spec. But after the sales disaster that was the E36 M3 LTW, we can pretty much guarantee that it will be an almost entirely trim-based option.

My source told me it will not be as dramatic as the E36 offering, but it sounds more like the euro version you describe.

Thanks for the tip on the search feature

Andy is right on, Phil. It is M-II Aero Package (with splitters on the front spoiler, which actually costs a fortune if you want to order them separately), Acoustic Package (Part Nr. 51 71 7 895 562) and short shift kit.

It's not worth it, IMO. Better get the M-II kit

But have you heard of it being sold here in the USA as a package option late this calendar year, in a fashion similar to ZHP optioned units
