Has anyone purchased one? $180 seems a bit pricey. Any opinions or alternatives?

I have one:

They're expensive technology (even before the BMW markup). Sharper Image has one that heats as well as cools, and comes with an AC adapter, if you're the kind of person who buys stuff from them...

Walmart has them, look in the camping section.

If you can find a used M6 with the right option, it has a cooler built into the back passenger compartment...only $20,000 or so for a real good one.
