Simple Question
So i know this might sound dumb... but how the hell do i open up my bmw key so i can replace the battery? its a simple key with an led, but i dont want to mess it up by just ripping it apart. help?
| | Reply » Simple Question | what year BMW do you have? the newer ones, like 2001 on (could be wrong about the date, but I think all E46 ar this way) they are sealed and the battery is not replaceable. Charges while driving.
Nevermind, just saw that you have an 89... my bad.
| | Reply » Simple Question | Mine works like this:
The back side of the key has a cover that snaps out/in. To snap it out, pry with a small flat-blade screwdriver (or a dime coin) at the hole for the key ring. It takes a CR 2025 battery. Positive side visible through the opening.
