Wondering what your suggestions are re: preventive maintenance, particularly what BMW doesn't do for you.
What I've been able to gather so far:
check oil level and tire pressure every month change oil every 7500 miles
change water pump at 60k miles change "lifetime transmission fluid" at 100k miles
change brake fluid at ... 30k miles?
I'm not sure what other fluids to be checking monthly. I think there are some belts that people change every 100k or so.
This is the extent of my preventive maintenance knowledge.

They may be electronically monitored but I would not rely on them.

Brake fluid - replace every two years. Coolant - flush every 3-4 years. Battery - change every 4 years. Belts - change 40k - 50k, 3-5 years. Hoses - change 4-5 years. Control Arms - check every 6 months. Shocks - anytime after 40k. Oil - every 7,500.

And based on the experiences of E36s, radiator at 100K.
I would do tranny and diff every 30 - 60K (Inspection II would be a good time).

Will BMW check control arms under the maintenance plan?
Also, brake fluid every two years... That's not covered, is it? If not, maybe I should just have the same mechanic shop who'll change my brake fluid also remove my CDV at the same time?
