 The 545i is dead....long live the 545i

All good things must come to an end. I bought the 545 at the end of last October - one or two weeks before my wife and I found out she was pregnant. We both had planned ( ) to have a child in another 2 years. Oh well - very happy and blessed and thrilled at the upcoming birth of my first daughter. They say she is due July 2nd, but we think she is due a bit earlier than that.

Since the 545 was an expensive beast (to say the least) I told the wifey I would buy a cheaper car (for the family good) - but it would be a BMW. I found that car yesterday and bought her last night.

I found a 2005 325i steel blue/grey with sport, premium, Harmon Kardon, Heated Seats, Leather, Xenons, Bluetooth, and BMW Assist. It has 74,000 miles, but thanks to checking the VIN History it is CPO'd and has full pre-paid maintenance until 100K also. As it almost cut my monthly car payment in half, I am thrilled - but confess to missing my black on black beauty !

This should be good for 5 years - then I will see what BMW is up to in 2012.

Yes - yes...I know....pics will be posted sometime this weekend.

Glad to hear that wifey at least let you get another bimmer. However, I know that you must be going through withdrawal and missing the V8.

Congratulations! Have you tried to fit a infant car seat in the back of the 3 yet? It will be a really tight fit, I beleive.

Yup - it will be tight. The baby seat will go in the back on the passenger side - I need a bit more space to drive and passengers can "suck it up" for short jaunts. I am only "reserve" transportation for the baby. Wife's SUV will do most of the transporting.

I was considering a coupe, but the size and configuration (and good advice) led me back to the sedan.

Congrats on the upcoming birth of your daughter. My little girl is already 15 months old. Enjoy the new ride too.

CONGRAT! ON THE FIRST BORN..

It will be okay. When we had the first child in 04, it was 2-330i. Than the second baby came in '06, we sold both '03 330i and got '05 x5 4.4i for wife and got myself a decent '06 330i. Wife had a bad accident in '02, our '00 Z3 saved her life. She vowed nothing less than BMW. I am fine with that.

Enjoy your new E46..
