BWM Service Poll
Despite purchasing four BMWs since 2002 alone I keep getting worse and worse service from my local dealer (only show in town.) After two really bad experiences with both my 545 and M3 in the last 2 week, it is really making me pause and think twice about forking over money for the next M3. I hope they can get their act together by then.
I was wondering what the general consensus was, if more people found they got great service from their dealer's service department or if they left a lot to be desired.

We are anal and read up on all the lastest fixed and info on the net forums. To be honset most of the info I read here my dealer is unaware of. In that sense the service sucks. It also sucks because I feel if I dont do the leg work and look into things I feel that they wouln't hesitate to rip me off on something that I was ignorant about. That is my biggest complain with BMW service. Also they always wash my car even though I tell them not to.....I even put a sign on it after I spent an entire weekend detailing it and the car wash guy didnt read english and washed it anway put some slimy grease crap on it and dressed the tires with silcone goop. I complained and got a 300 dollar check from the service manager in order to give them EXCELLENT ratings. They always ask for EXCELLENT ratings....well how about excellent service? Thats not too much to ask for!

I am talking about things greasy hand prints on the inner fabric, leaving the hood unlatched which starts to come up on the highway, it being in the shop for 7 days for the 15K mile service, and I could go on and on. In the last two years they have been through 4 service managers, customer satisfaction has gone from high 90's to low 70's

One is pretty bad, the other is fairly good.
| | Reply » BWM Service Poll | When I first purchased my current 325 I had couple bad experiences at my dealer, I called BMWNA and complained they contacted the service manager who then contacted me and we straightened a couple things out. Since then I have had consistently good service and given 4 and 5 on the service surveys.
Coincident? Maybe but it worked for me. Like Bill97Z mentioned the dealers what those 5 ratings.

And you and I are in the same boat I will never take my car to them again, its just now out of warranty but when it was covered I got 1. in for seat fix, i got ripped lower seat leather which they attempted to hide from me 2. in for seat lower leather cover replacement which they f up, I got : one of them hit the concrete post in the parking lot which ripped the x pel off the front nose( thank god i had the x pel or it would have been paint) they said are you sure we did that
I will be doing all the work myself or having a indy shop like rhine west on broadway do it if i can not handle it, but for normal service stuff I can easily handle that, I have the peak reset and scan tool if you ever need any help( oops i just saw yours is a 2005 i dont think my scan tool will work on it
