Ok here it goes,

I'm new here, and new to BMWs (never owned one but been fantasizing from the time I was little (now 23)). I currently drive a 1999 toyota tercel and am on a pretty tight budget. I need a reliable car that will carry me through these crazy canadian winters and still start up each morning.

I spotted a nice 1991 318i with 123 000km (never winter driven) for 4400$ CAN . So my question is.. Should I sell my car and risk buying a car that will cost losts to repair, or should I stick with my crappy, suspensionless, old lady car.

(btw, I work on cars and could do minor repairs and parts ordering by myself).

Any help solving this dilemma would be very appreciated.
