Background: Bought my CPO 540i 2 weeks ago. Got it inspected at an independent BMW service shop this past weekend. The shop found that the front windshield was replaced not with a BMW windshield, but with an aftermarket windshield. He showed me that the glass was aftermarket since it did not have the BMW logo on the bottom driver's side. Also, the glass wasn't sitting correctly against the body. It was too short. (This explains the whistling I hear at highway speeds).
My question is how can I get the dealer to replace the windshield with a BMW one. I feel I shouldn't have to pay for this. And I feel my safety is compromised with this aftermarket windshield. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

BMW dealerships are required to use BMW parts for all CPO vehicles. There's no gray area in this, it's part of the franchise agreement.

183rd reason why "CPO" doesn't really mean anything.

What a scam.

One dealer's impropriety doesn't mean the whole system is bad.

Philippek, you sound pretty confident about that. I'm bringing it in to the dealer tomorrow morning. If they give me a hard time about this, what can I do and who can I call as a recourse? BMW North America or something?
