It seems nobody can spell alcantara....


Instead, I see alcantra all over the place.

Being an Italian word (Or Trademark?) I guess us German car nuts have a problem with it.....I was going to say most use the German pronunciation which loosely translates into "cloth that balls up with use".

Wow. I thought I was the only one who noticed.

"Al - can - tara"

Not that hard to me. To say or spell. But even guys in the upholstery business selling the stuff can't pronounce it right. Sort of annoying considering it's sort of expensive and it does have a very high quality reputation behind it.

Does it matter? It's a made-up word, like nylon, kevlar, carbon fiber or fibre if you are English.
