530i OR 330i I am in trouble
Hi everybody
I need a help to make a decision over here I am in a position to buy a new car and i am confused between 2002 330i and 2001 520i both are amazing and almost same options in general but any one here can help by adding an advatae to one of them
also, i am woundering about maintenance cost, am i going to face a difference and which is cheaper to maintain
also, please any hints re performance, reliability, etc...

Thanks | Do you mean 520i or 530i? I'm not sure what engine 520i would have. Either way, the two cars should be equivalent in maintenance costs and reliability, although some secondary parts might be better on the 5 series. If both are equal to you, buy the one with less mileage on it, or the one in better shape.
The 5 series has more interior space, but the 3 series is more fun to drive.
| | Reply » 530i OR 330i I am in trouble | Most of the E39's added interior space comes in the trunk, which is much larger than that of that of the E46. In terms of interior space, the E39 has a slightly larger backseat (negligible in terms of cargo capacity, but it does allow you to fit adults more comfortably). I'd say the front seat of hte E46 is comparable to the E39 in terms of comfort and space - at least for me, and I'm 6'0" and about 210 lbs.
Overall, my friend's E39 (1997 528i w/5 speed manual) has been slightly more reliable than my E46. Mechanically they have been similar, but his car does not suffer from the trim problems (sunroof shade) and extraneous mechanical issues (window regulators, mainly) that mine does.
