On the way to work this morning, the "check brake linings" message popped up in my dash. Wouldnt have been a problem except that I had just had Axxis Deluxe Plus pads installed a few months earlier. (Thanx for the help & info DaveZ)
After work I checked out the drivers side front, and passenger rear wheels, and saw the rear sensor dangling, completely cracked at the bend with one of the two wires within it severed. I took the wheel off, but couldnt make out where exactly the connection point was located so I could change it. Searched here, BMWtips, and other sites without much luck.
I guess the sensor either cracked during the pad change 4 mths ago, or it cracked 4 days ago when I washed the car, and was cleaning the inner lip of the rims. I'm not sure. Either way, I'll be more careful when Im cleaning near the calipers, and I'll be stopping by the dealer on my way to work in the morning, to pick up a replacement.
Any info on how to swap it is greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance.

A little more info. The car has about 30k on the clock now. When the pads were changed 4mths ago, I was told the rotors looked fine. I am now wondering if the rotors are now worn enough to trip the sensor even though the pads are new. Gonna have to have them checked out.
If they are shot, I wonder if I can still have the rotors changed under the free maintenance. If not, I may just change them myself. Wonder if the pads can be re-used.

Free maintenance doesn't cover brakes. Sensors don't indicate rotor wear, just pad wear. Sensors can be re-used but with limited success, ask me how I know. They often crack when being re-installed. If you didn't put a new one in with the new pads then I wouldn't think it was washing the wheels that did it. Sensors are really inexpensive.

I too would bet the sensor broke while the brakes were being changed.
Every time I have had brakes done, the sensors were always part of the parts list.

In my case though, I wonder if the dealer will refuse to honor it due to the aftermarket pads.
Since the very edge of the rotor is not worn by the pads. If a rotor is worn enough, cant that unworn lip contact the sensor? My sensor is cracked in half at the bend; I am not sure if thats how they are triggered normally. Thanx for the info.

put your old pads back on, they will replace them with new rotors. I doubt you need new rotors, but that seems to be what BMW usually does when the pads are worn out.
