... would you go again with an I6 that requires premium?

Without question. The difference in price between regular and premium costs me maybe $5/week.
Now, offer me a high-performance hybrid, and the equation changes.

The I6 in my BMW gets far better mileage than many cars out there...hard to argue with 30mpg on the highway. I spend much less on the premium in my I6 than I do the regular that goes in my V8.

I'm assuming you mean an additional 70% on top of the current $3/gal (which would put it at $5.10/gal)... I'd be thinking about carpooling or Prius for the commute.

Do the math...72% increase. 65-70$ a week.
