The NAV on my 550 is lost. I am currently driving on water over the bay. Does anyone know how to reset it to the current position. Do I need to reboot IDrive and how? Thanks in advance.

This happened to me before. You need to schedule an appointment with the dealership for a CIP update. They have a fix for that.

I think it just needs to be recalibrated.

Quote: | I think it just needs to be recalibrated. | You need to do the equivalent of a Ctrl - Alt - Del:
Shut car off, open all four windows and the sunroof, then open all the door, then open the trunk, and finally pop the hood.
Now eject the NAV disc.
Count to 10.
Put the NAV disc back in, close the hood, close the trunk, close the doors, close the windows and sunroof and start the car.
Rinse and Repeat if necessary.
(make an appointment w/dealer...most likey a s/w upgrade as jiio described)

Agent99,
You got me there for a few seconds before I scroll down. I will make a appointment. I hope the newer does not bring any new bug and I am not the guinea pig for the SW.

There actually is a Crt-Alt-Del in our e60s. I believe to reboot the idrive system is it pressing the volume button, CD eject button, and DVD eject button all at the same time.
I tried this method a few times and it did not correct the NAV problem. And, speaking of NAV problem, my NAV went crazy for a few minutes this morning but corrected itself.
