What is my iDrive thinking about?

When I start the car, sometimes it is ready to go with the "lawyer screen" .

Other times I get "BMW" for 30 seconds or so before the Accept screen . Today I got the Accept screen and hit Accept and then got a Blank/Black screen for maybe 20 seconds before the menu came up. Is it working on something in the background? Is this normal?

I've experienced the same thing from time to time. I try to unlock the car as soon as I can so the iDrive and other computers have time to boot up before I start the car. Most times it is OK. Sometimes things "hang" and I have to hit the menu button to get back to the home screen.

I think it is just a little inconvenient at this time. No better or worse since I've had the car.

Now if they could only fix my Sirius radio reception . . .

When you shut the car off the computers enter a sleep mode and begin scanning all systems to make sure everything is good. Depending on how often you get in and out of the car and what exactly you had going on like nav, sat, cd, or any changes you made via iDrive depends on how long the BMW screen is up before it goes to the accept screen. This inconsistency is completely normal and I would only worry if your car does NOT exhibit this.

As far as the ****ty Sirius reception goes, your sat receiver is BAD and needs replacing. Just make damn sure the dealer gives you the new SID code so you can get the new receiver activated.
