I have a sport suspension 550i. Car seems to shake occasionally when I am driving at high speed but can't tell if it is due to firmness of the ride(driving on the rough surface of the freeway) or if there is something really wrong with the car. Also I reported a slight rattling noise when engine is idle(usually after I drove the car a bit)When I am holding the brake at the red light, the car seems to rev slightly up and down around 0.5(0.4-0.6) then stablizes around 0.5.
I am taking my car to the dealer to take a look at. To make their life easier as well, what should I tell them to check for?

No. There shouldn't be any shaking at all at any speeds. The 545/550 sport is so smooth you sometimes won't even know you're in the triple digits.

Ride is pretty smooth when I get on the smooth/new freeway though....so even though I get on the freeway that is a bit uneven..there should not be any shaking?

I've hit 140 and there has been no shaking of any kind. To clarify, you are talking about shaking of the steering wheel, right?

I hit 85 today in a flash and had no idea - dead smooth. I'm trying to be mellow during break in, but this car begs to go.

No there shouldn't be any shaking at all, car should be very stable up until around 160, then it may get a bit shakey.
Sound's like an Alignment issue or tires are improperly balanced.
