Can anyone tell me if it's possible to upgrade (an existing e60 with L7) to HD radio?  If so... what is required? New radio? Software? Can anyone give an honest comparison against SAT? Just curious. |

HA! No... I rarely ask my dealer anything........ I usually get all my answers here! 
I was just reading a post this morning about some guy who has HD radio in his new e60. I wasn't aware that it was even an option now.... so was just curious if an older model could have it without paying through the nose or arse!

I've got HD on my 2007 530XI. Sound is much better than Sirius. It particulalry improves AM, but you are stuck with the relatively few local stations that are broadcating HD. I just got back from a 2000 mile trip and nothing beats Sirius as one is heading accross the plains of Nebraska or South Dakota. Get both if your local stations are doing HD.

Get both if your local stations are doing HD. | We have three HD stations here in San Diego. LA has a lot but most are Spanish. I agree, Sirius is for me even if the sound is not as good. Last thing I want is crystal clear commericals.

I refuse to listen to the amateur comedians (DJs) and ALL those damn commercials. As a result, I've rediscovered my CDs......... but now they're getting old again.......
I never really had a problem with the way Sirius sounds (around here)....... so..... I'll probably go back and sign up again. I really miss it at work. Nice feature.
