m5 166 rim
Hello all.. another querstion here.. Since i am not getting the sports package with the upgraded wheels 18inch wheels i think i will go with the m5 166 rims. i read they go for about 1600 at one of the local bmw dealers here in soCal. Question is osomeone told me they were 19inch rims.. will that fit no problem on the 07 530i? also if i decided to get them through the dealer will they trade the original rims plus little cash for the 166? how much are the original ones worth?

You probably be better off selling them on Ebay!

They will fit the '07 530i just fine. Here are the recommended tire sizes:
Front: 245/35/19 Rear: 275/30/19
And, if you really want to fill in the rear wheel well, go with 285/30/19s. People will tell you that it will rub but I know many e60 owners that are running 285s.
Also, since you will not be getting the sport package, I recommend you lower your car with Eibachs or H&R springs. A 2" drop will look good.
Like X550-ED said, do not trade them in through dealer. Better to purchase 166s separately and sell your stock 17s on eBay.

I've been here in bimmerfest, just haven't been posting too much. Whoring takes a lot of time! Can't be whoring in two forums while at work.
Here are some recommendations for tires along with the 166s. Top two are Michelin PS2 and GoodYear F1 GS-D3. Of course, you will be paying premium price for these two. Then there is the next "tier" so to speak: Continentals, Bridgestones, Pirellis, Toyos, Nittos, etc..
I went with Toyo T1Rs from Edgeracing. Saved about $500 going with Toyos instead of either Michelin or Goodyear. Had the Toyos since April. No complaints.
