i just wanted to comment that when i drove a 550 w/o the comfort seats i couldnt fit in the damn car (im 5'8" -- too short), the seats adjustment ended before i could get comfortable.. however, with the comfort seats, theyre the single best seats ive ever sat in my in life. yes theyre that good..and man do they have a ton of needed adjustments just something to consider for you buyers... There is something to be said about a 20 way adj seat! Also very cool that the 2007 Sport Package incl the Comfort Seats instead of the old Sport Seats.

I'm 5' 10" and my "problem" with the comfort seats is that is took me a couple of weeks to get the 20 adjustments right! Make sure you store your adjustments. I think that the steering wheel should be adjusted back more or the pedals should be adjustable - this would optimize the seating for me.

I find myself not mucking with the seat adjustments nearly as much as I did with my M5 - even after 4 years I probably did some minor adjust every time I got in it. The comfort seats are just so much more comfy and "fit-able" - they really do bring the comfort of a 7er into the sportiness of a 5er without sacrificing any support or sport feel.
If I did the trim changes, I'd go gloss black like the 750i sport, the 650i, and the M5 - that gloss black on a jet black car is great looking. But that is probably $800 worth of parts at least (those panels between the windows have to be done for gloss black) and I would not do that myself - might not be too hard, but no. Tempting to have it done though.

On my test drive with the comfort seats my main problem was that they were so comfortable that I was falling asleep in them. I found that to be a problem, so now i carry an alarm clock when I drive.

It was meant mostly for truckers but perhaps it's need for BMWs with (ultra) comfort seats? BTW, I'm 5'8"...and I fit just fine in the 545i w/comforts...I love the adjustable side bolsters!
