Hey guys big mistake on my part, i had my car valet'd when I got it back and drove it off and error message: 4x4 system and DSC malfunction, another error I got was that the Start-off is Inactive and I need these two serviced..
any ideas what could have caused this? and what is Start-off??
lesson learned.. never let your expensive car be valet'd.

Don't blame the valet... this is caused by a faulty steering wheel angle sensor. There are a few other threads in this forum related to this issue (some refer to AWD, some DSC, but it's all the same root cause). The real kicker is that sensor is on national back-order. I've been waiting 3 weeks for one....

Just got the same error with my car. Also, I noticed the adaptive headlamps are behaving very erratically. Straight roads, lights will wander from left to right. Does anyone think these two problems are related. I have my service appt set up for a couple days from now. Hopefully no backorder delays.

With a faulty steering wheel position sensor, the car (computer) doesn't know which direction you want to go so things like DSC and adaptive headlights act up. The 3-blink direction light feature may also act up.

Where can I find this sensor? Maybe a tap here and there should hold off until my scheduled service date

There is a huge back order on these sensors. So many people have experienced this problem that cars are being done at VPC. You are looking at a minimum of 2 weeks if you are lucky.
Good Luck.
