I'm guessing I know the answer to the question but do any of you see much of a chance for getting any below MSRP deals on a local delivery '06 550 factory ordered? How far could I expect to get under MSFP on an ED? Would be in the Seattle area.....

Well, have you tried to get a quote yet? You could start and then see what the rest get. I'm planning a 550i (maybe 530i...dunno right now) but not until 9/06....

I used carsdirect.com and paid under MSRP, under carsdirect.com's price (marginally) as a matter of fact.
PS: that was for a 545, first year car.

I ordered a new 550i two weeks ago and was able to get close to a $2000 discount off the MSRP prices. OK, its my 3rd vehicle from the same dealer but they were very considerate and worked with me on the options list / prices etc. It will be delivered here in Portland, Or area.

Thanks all for the responses, appreciate the feedback. Carsdirect.com doesn't list the 550 yet, it still only has the 545, so I guess that's not an option.
So far I've been able to get $2k off of ED but haven't been able to get anyone to budge off of MSRP on a domestic delivery. May expand my geographic search and keep looking though a savings of $6k through ED is pretty attractive.

What's your timeframe for delivery? I think you'd have a better shot by not trying to be first in line for the 550 but maybe waiting until the holidays when car buyers are christmas shopping (not for cars) and dealers would like to pump up their sales figures. Maybe Jan/Feb is the best time? Anyone else have any ideas?
