Hi i am a new owner of jet black e60, i find it difficult to keep it clean , though i try my best washing the car once a week and applying the BMW wax around once a month and then i dust off the car with california car duster. i read a lot about detailing and am sure am missing something, can anyone describe simple steps to wax a car and best product to use? my steps are : washing the car with bmw car shampoo drying with chamoise bmw wax , using polishing cloths

Pretty nice, Stream! Almost makes me want to get back into cleaning my own cars...almost...but not quite!  I take my vehicles to AJs Auto Detail in downtown San Jose: http://www.ajautodetailing.com/ I just can't afford the time it takes to take care of my own vehicles and they do a 10x better job in 1/10th the time anyway!

Black is always going to be tough. Good luck to you, black is very sharp when clean but can be a pain to keep it that way.

Check out the most recent edition of Consumers Reports. They have a two-pager on waxes/polishes, paint protection for your car. They tested about 30 different products.

Best thing with Black is DIY - don't let anyone else touch it - unless you have seen that they can do Black right, and will.
