  I want my CAR!!!!

 I want my CAR!!!!

Hello all!

I'm very anxious to receive my new 530xi! It was dropped off at the port on 6/4/06. I spoke with the dealer and he said best case scenario, the car will be here maybe Saturday, but he thinks sometime next week. How long does a care spend at Port before being transported to the VPC? Also, how much time will it spend at the VPC? I read in other post that the car is considered a priority 1 since it's sold and they tend to get those cars out quicker. Someone else received there car around 3 days later after the boat docked whose from the same area (CHICAGO). I really want my car! Especially because my other car is really acting up!!!! On BMWUSA.COM, the car status is "Still in Transit", but the Ships site states it was dropped off on 6/4/06. Please let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

Doug

I wonder if the dealer tracking is as bad as Owner's Circle? My car was on the Integrity which arrived/departed the Charleston VPC on the 3rd/4th, but my dealer says the car shows arrival at port on the 7th

That shipping company site seems way more up to date and reliable than BMW's info, so I'm thinking my car has been at the VPC for a few days or is en route to ATL.

Doug-

haha! You are almost as bad as me.
I take it you were on Freedom with several of us (elee, dapharsyde, zfore), unloaded in NY Sunday 6.4, correct?

I was planning on 14 days from that date to be safe, my dealer is telling me 10.

ED cars of course have to clear customs which can take from 10 mins to 3 weeks.

Hi Doug:

I received my car in just 4 days after it came into port in Charleston. Apparently if the VPC isn't backed up and the car clears all the quality checks, it can be released to a trucking company the same day it arrives. Transport time into Chicago is just one day. If your dealer has it's new inventory posted online, you should be able to see your car showing in the dealer inventory the day before it physically arrives at the dealership. I saw my car posted on the dealer's website before my salesperson even know it was there. BMW automatically updates the dealer inventory with cars intransit from the VPC. The dealer typically needs a day to ready your car for delivery. The owner's circle estimated delivery date which appears on the order detail screen was totally accurate in my case.

Mullman-

My car was also on the intergrity. When I called the dealer, he stated it showed an arrival date of 6/7/06 also ... but the ship website had it being delivered on the 4th like yours.

Gary, you were the one I was quoting who received his car kind of quick!!!! Did you ever check the BMW website??? Was there a delay??? Thanks guys for the quick response!!!!

The BMW website is about 24 hours delayed except for the delivery date that I mentioned in the previous post. The estimated delivery date seams to be close to real time. My car was at the dealer on 5/25/06. The estimated delivery date showed 5/25/06 but owner's circle also showed that the car was at VPC. It didn't show at the dealer until the following day which is when I actually picked up the car.
