So, I just came back from my ED trip very excited, and bored at home, I started to read the car manual that I took with me. It implies that the car is ready for the snap-in adapters - it just says that you need to remove the filler and insert the snap-in adapter. Since I have Razr v3, I am wondering if the base plate is already there, and all I need to do is get the $140 base plate for the V3? If so, I think I can do it. Can anyone confirm if 2007 models include the base plate? Thanks.

I ordered the whole gitty-up from my local dealer using the party #s on the sticky, top of this forum. With the CCA discount it is around $250.

It does not - the OP did not specifiy what MY his car is. What I am saying is that MY07 530 manual does not imply that any base plate installation is necessary - it just says that you need a snap-in adapter. that's why I am questioning whether the 2007 model still needs the base plate part #.

From this page, click on Phone Docking Cradle.
The way I read this is you have to buy all three parts the FIRST time.
THEN if during your term of ownership you changes phones, you can just buy the snap-in adapter to fit your new phone.

Thanks. That page makes sense. But the problem is that the manual does not mention it at all. So I was hoping that maybe, by some magic, base plate is included now. I guess I'm just going to have to wait and see when my car arrives..
