Benz is crap!
My wife's 2002 E320 wagon is FALLING APART at 75,000 miles. Let me tell you, she does not abuse the car and it is literally falling apart. Air bag seat sensors, electrical, mechanical, interior pieces, it's just a general falling apart!!!! Nothing more I can say.
I traded my 2000 S500 for the 530xiT because IT was falling apart at 55,000 miles. I almost bought the new M, but read on benzworld forums that THEY are full of mechanical defects.
My Mercedes Service Advisor says we're not alone in this. He jokingly refers to Mercedes quality as job security. He doesn't believe it's an historic problem either.
I've owned Mercedes straight through since 1986, but no more. The wife's wagon will turn into a 330ciC for her birthday in October....

| | Reply » Benz is crap! | I was chatting with a neighbor the other night and he mentioned a friend of his with a late model Benz has been having nothing but trouble with it. I have no idea which model or what year it is.

| | Reply » Benz is crap! | I've got an E320 wagon with just about the same miles. Gulp. Nothing is falling apart yet, but I've already replaced it with a 530xiT. I did notice a mechanical clanging sound last time I drove it though, so I have to get it fixed before I clean it up and sell it. I hope it's not an expensive repair. I, too, wasn't overly impressed with the Mercedes. It was nice to drive, but a little boring. Considering the reputation of Mercedes, you'd think they'd get a little worried on the sales end, but I didn't feel like they offered such a great deal. Luckily for me, because I checked out the 530 wagon and am much happier! Now, only to get the other car sold for a decent price.
