 Strange and worried...

hello all~
i ordered my car around 5/1/06 and got a call from my dealer on 6/3/06. this is less than 6 weeks! cuz normally when ordering, it will take about 6-8 weeks. right? also, the funny thing is that when i checked the website my car was dropped off at the port on 6/2/06. and the fishy part is that my car went thru the VPC in one day!!! cuz the dealer called me on 6/3/06............

Another disturbing part is that my vehicle is listed on the dealer's website as being in inventory and available for sale!!! (i matched the VIN from the OC website)

1) Are these things common?
2) Can the dealer put the ordered vehicle in the new inventory on the website for sale?
3) Does that mean the car will be test drived by other people who are interested?
4) What should I do at this point?

Thanks and will appreciate some info on this issue~

You have way too much time on your hands.

Do you want the car? Then go pick it up.

Stop asking questions and pick up your car. Enjoy it!

Don't worry. Although the dealer puts it on the new-inventory list, it does not mean it is available for others to test drive. Once you have ordered the car, it is yours to drive only even if its listed on the dealer's website.

The Inventory is automatically extracted from the Dealership Management System and loaded on the website. If the car just got it then the sales office did not have a chance yet to make a deal for the car on the system and book it as sold and in affect remove it from the inventory list. Most likely, the car will not be demoed or driven since it has a deposit on it and is sold to you. Go and pick it up and enjoy yourself.

I think you caught all the lights green - should be fine. The dealership must have managed to get you into a close production slot - my car was built on 5/10 and should be here on 6/10 - maybe sooner if I get the "one day" VPC turnaround you got; 5 weeks is probably a best case scenario - or you could sit two weeks "scheduled for production" like I did.

At this point, you should just go sign the papers and collect the keys
