 2004 545i CPO Questions

Hello there everyone.

I just recently purchased a 2004 545i (Black on black with sport suspension) and live in the great city of New York.

Because our great city doesn't like to pave potholes, I apparently blew a belt in a front tire and had to replace it. I ended up paying about $500 to do so and was told the tire was not covered under warranty. Is this true?

Some other issues I've come across and would love to hear anyone's views on are.

1. My FTM came on over the weekend, checked tires and saw there was no flat and I reset it. I'm assuming it related to a loss in tire pressure vis a vis the other tires. Does anyone think it is worth seeing the service guys for this?

2. Every once in a while, I hear three beeps and I think they somehow relate to a wireless signal. I didn't think the car was outfitted with bluetooth or phone service, but I'd love to know if anyone knows what the mysterious 3 beeps are?

Thanks for any assistance.

Forgot one other thing.

Dealer said they couldn't hook up an IPOD adapter. Is this true? Anyone know how I can do so without too much work?

Thanks again.

1) Do you have runflats? Did you check the pressure on your tires or just look at them and not see a flat?

2) This is the hourly chime which can be disabled/enabled through iDrive.

3) No Ipod interface is available yet- but has been announced and should be available in the summer.

Thanks for the info.

I had the tires checked out and the pressures were not aligned, causing the warning. But get this, I was driving this past weekend and had the rear rim crack in half. I couldn't believe it. To make matters worse the damn jack wouldn't work will because I had to change the flat on the grass of the Saw Mill Pkwy (there is not emergency lane) and because it was so wet, the jack kept sinking into the ground.

I've had the car for 3 months and this is the third tire issue. Very frustrating.
