O.k. I am picking up my first bmw of any kind next week in Munich. I have only taken a few spins around the block at the dealer. No highway driving and probably never hit 50mph. I am going from driving a SUV (jeep) for the last 6 years to a four dour sedan, which is bigger than my current car. Any tips, things to look for, blind spots, unique things to bmw's (currently only driven usa vehicles), or anything you thank I should know before hopping into a car I have hardly driven. I know this could be endless but any tips would be great, as I am getting a little nervous. I have driven in europe multiple times but the cars have driven have been no more than 4 cyl. and no bigger than a matchbox car.

The most difficult thing to get used to is that you will never want to stop driving it once you start! And you will never ever feel right driving a non-BMW ever again.....

Oh, and you'll notice this huge thing stuck on your face. It's called a grin ( .) Honestly, the only thing that took me a little time to get used to (and I mean just a very little time) was the turn signal operation. Once you get used to it, you wonder why everyone else isn't doing it as well.

I went from an SUV (Expedition) to a 530i. At first, it was a little overwhelming being so low to the ground. That lasted a whole 5 minutes until I got on Highway 99 and was cruising at 105 mph and not even realizing it. They don't call it the Ultimate Driving Machine for nothing!!

Be aware that the brakes are very efficient and will paste you on the windshield, if you are not used to them. Not a complaint at all, merely an observation.
When I got back in my 550i after two weeks driving a rental Taurus, I was happily overwhelmed by the 550i's acceleration and stopping power. I love my 550i!!!
Happy motoring in Germany!
