 Looking to buy a 525i or 525xi

I am looking to buy or lease a 525i or 525xi within the next couple of months. So, I begin my research by posting a few questions

1) Any dealership recommendations in NJ who can do most of the work/negotiations through email/internet? I live near Princeton BMW.
2) What is considered a good deal for a 525 in today's market? (MSRP - ?/INVOICE + ?)
3) If I decide to go with ED, does it have to be a purchase or can I lease it too?

Responses to this happy Lexus owner's questions for his first BMW purchase will be highly appreciated

I think you should expect to pay 1000 to 1500 over invoice, I got my car from Flemington. PM me and I can get you hooked up with the GM there.

Princeton BMW is one of the worst; so I have heard. When leasing there are three factors you need to negotiate:
1. Price over invoice
2. Money Factor Markup (capped at 0.0004 which is equivalent to 1%)
3. Acquisition Fee Markup (capped at $200).

You can do ED leases. There is 0.0003 MF markup but BMWFS makes one free payment.
ED leases are very good since residual is based on US MSRP and the ED savings are amortized over the lease term making the payment less. Often 24 month ED leases are less than 36 month ED leases.

You should join the BMW CCA immediately. If you have been a member for an year you get $1K back on a 5 series purchase!

In general $1000-$1500 over ED invoice is doable. However YMMV.

Don't know if you have the time to get down here, I can hook you up with my sales rep who does $800-1000 over invoice on in stock or ED. In addition since it is such a large dealer, if you order the dealer may be able to get an allocation spot and reduce delivery time to about 6 weeks instead of the usual 8-10. And of course, much of the stuff can be handled thru the internet via email. I think you have to be here in person to sign the forms and pick up the car.

Yes, you can also lease through ED, its just you have a more limited amount of time you can spend there (I think 2 weeks or a month). PM if you want more details.
