i am upset , i know everything under warranty , but still replacing too manythings on a less than a yr old car .....
i had my hood painted when i bought the car from dealer, then brake sensors, fuel tank , fuel pump , ....
does all repairs go to car HISTORY of repairs?

Sorry for your issues but be somewhat happy that you are getting all the work done under warranty! How would you like to have paid to get this work done?

As long as you have your car service by a BMW dealer, everything done gets recorded and stays with the car no matter what.

I wouldn't think it would affect resale value at all. After all, when someone comes along to buy your car, they want everything to work, right? If that means stuff was replaced, then so be it.

People who take the pains to look at the service history are looking for recurring issues. Say an electrical issue which takes 3 different fixes and continues to linger. A one-off failure which was fixed under warranty is not an issue. I personally would be happy to see the defect taken care of during warranty.

Sak,

I had to take my e36 in because we found a single drop of oil on the garage floor. The SA calls me and says it was an oil pan gasket. Well, before I go to get it, the SA calls back and says it wasn't the gasket, but actually the oil pan was warped.

I heard of a couple of SA saying that was the first 5er that they had seen that problem on. They said they had seen it in a couple of 7er, but mine was the first 5er. They fixed it and not a problem since.
