 Vandalism help--Please!!

Hello all! I have a little problem, and I hope one of the "experts" here can help. I just purchased a 2007 550i. The car was four days old, when I decided to take the family out of town.

To make a long story short, when we came out of the hotel to start our journey home, I found the car had been vandalized. Keyed down the entire passenger side, and also on the driver's rear quarter panel. In all of my years, I have never experienced an act like this, and believe me , it was a good thing I did not know who did this. The cops came out and asked if I pissed anybody off, and I just looked at him. There was not one incident that happened over the weekend, so I guess it was just plain meanness??

Anyway, I had to pull out the door handles, and for some reason, my body shop had shut all of the doors. Now, we have another problem--we cannot re-open the doors! I am able to roll down the windows, and even access the interior door handles, but still cannot release the door. I have disconnected the battery, tried to get the mechanism to open via picks and tools, but have not had any luck.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

That really sad how rude people can be.

The doors probably won't open because the body shop didn't connect the rods inside the doors correctly and they fell out or something similar. Only way you might be able to get it open is to take the interior panels off and open it that way. Below are some diagrams of the locking mechanism for the front door and the panel diagram.

Good luck.

Man this sucks just to even hear this.
What is up with people? I sure am glad that you didn't catch this person...... He probably would not have survived your retaliatory strike.

Just reading about your misfortune makes my blood boil. If I ever saw someone do that to my car, even if it's not a BMW, I would follow them home, find out what cars he/she has, and return the favor to all his/her cars then some.

People like that really have to go though the same pain to learn a lesson and respect other's property.

So sorry to hear about your incident, hope the bastard gets what he/she deserves...leave it to Karma
