cranking sound while locking and un locking ....
i heard this sound a few times , ( does not come everytime i lock and unlock) coming from front where the engine is , and today i heard it while cranking up my car with keys , this sound came breifly and then a on i drive monitor came the message " mall function , active steering "
turned the key off and started it up , started right up without any cranking sound and no mall function message. cud not locate any mal function message.
anyone experienced this?

Do you mean "malfunction?" Does your car have active steering? Take it into the dealer, sounds like your active steering is having a problem.

I too used to get this. It went away after one of the software updates. Sorry, can't remeber which one...maybe v19.
