 M3 manufacture/delivery ETA

Friend of mine just ordered an 06 M3. She is told to expect delivery to be by the end of Oct. The web site still shows the car has yet to be manufactured. Any thoughts on this delivery date estimate provided by the dealer? Is it accurate?

Yeah, don't sweat it. The website runs several days late. Our last BMW was at the dealer while the website still showed it "in transit".

What was the "build date" given to you by the dealer? Typically the delivery is 4-8 weeks after that, depending on where you are in the country.

Best source of info is to call BMW.

Do a SEARCH on this forum for several threads about time frame of order/build/ship/deliver car.

ditto, just keep calling the person you (or your friend) bought the car from and they should give you more detailed info

I've heard that the website is an inacurrate tracking tool. I knew that I could count on someone from here to provide alternative means of tracking. Thank you for your suggestions.

No, the best source of info is your dealer. They always get the most accurate, detailed, and up-to-date info. The BMW 800 number doesn't have the same level of info, and they'll even tell you your dealer is better.

On my last 2 orders (02 530i, 05 M3) I was getting much better data from my dealer. OC was lousy, and the 800 number was sketchy.
