I just picked up a 2007 550i and traded in a 2005 545. The idrive control feels completely different (not as "defined") Are there any differences?/ Has anyone else experienced this??

I'm not sure what you mean by defined....
Did you have NAV in the '05 but no NAV in the '07?

You mean the detentions as you spin it aren't as harsh? Does it seem softer or something?

I remember that the iDrive knob would provide feedback for NAV systems but not for non-NAV systems, so I wonder if that is what he is describing....
