 at the gas pump....

i hv a q's , i hv my 530 i for 2 months and i hv tried few gas stations and different nozzles to fill up my car , and i hv found it sooooooooo annoying that whenever i pump , no matter gas is less than a quarter, nozzles keep on cutting off , i hv tried my best to adjust nozzles while pumping , more of it out , all the way in , slowing down while pumping , but it keeps on cutting after every 2-3 dollars worth of gas i pump ,
when i imagine the cold weather , wut am i gonna do , it takes me good 3-5 minutes when i hv to pump 40-45 dollars worth of gas which is like 13-14 gallons.
i never hv prob with my other cars,
as i am a new bmw owner , so prob there is trick to it , or do i really hv to take my car to dealer for this prob?
any answers and help wud be appreciated.
regards
Sak

Man I hate to hear that. I had a 1999 540 with the exact same problem - and no one I asked could fix it. But trust me...I know EXACTLY what a pain in the arse it is.

I'm surprised you are having the same problem with the new 5 series - I wonder if its a bad seal causing the pump to think the tank is full.

Good luck with it.

Hmm, what exactly is a "bad" fuel tank??

You should have asked them what is wrong with it.

Defintely a little more info would be nice to see if this is an isolated incident or not. Thanks.

Its gotta be something that causes the gas to "backflow" enough to make the pump think the tank is full. Very strange.

Please ask your service manager what the problem was - it will solve a 5 year old mystery for me!
