I am thinking of ordering my E60 550i w/ active steering. Do you have it? Do you notice a difference with verses without? Is it worth the money???
Any and all thoughts appreciated.

Or, if you have never used it, don't get so you won't ever know what you are missing.

hi,about a month ago I took a ride in my oncle's car:a 525 E60 with active steering.There's only one word to describe it:AMAZING!!! It was the best steering feeling I ever got.It's unbelievable how this system works.It can change the steering turns from 1,5 (when you need to park)to about 4,when you're on the highway speeding.Get it and you'll never regret it.Off course,the standard E60's steering wheel has a beautiful feel,but nothing can be compared to active st.Some people claimed that it gave a weird feeling when driving,cause of the continuously changed steering ratio.Well,i never felt it!And i drove the car for about 200 miles.I took it to the highway,to narrow mountain roads..Everywhere.And I was totally Satisfied with the system.Get it!It's really worth it.
PS:You should also get the Dynamic Drive feauture.I've never been in a car whith it but from what I've heard from people who have,it is also astonishing

Here is one of the many threads on the subject. A test drive of each will help you with your decision. If you can set up some cones in an empty parking lot, a drive through a slalom course might help (or a drive on a very windy road with some hair pins. )

Get it dude.
Whenever I have to rent a car I notice how lame not having active steering is.
People who don't like active steering are just old and hate change.
