Hello-
I ordered a 2007 BMW 5 but I didn't get the comfort access option. Is this option mandetory in order to have a start/stop button feature.

You will still have the start/stop button.

As mentioned the start/stop button is standard on all 5 series for 2007,not sure on the 2006 but doesn't matter since your getting the 2007 
Only thing I know of that the comfort access does in regards to starting the car is you don't have to ahve the key fob inserted in the steering wheel column to start the car.
