To All,
I was ready to order my 550i w/ SMG. A local Los Angeles dealer told me they had LOTS of problems and they REFUSE to order me the car.
Does anyone else know of this problem? Should I stay away (don't debate if manual is better I only care about the SMG technology working properly).
Please let me know asap...I was going to order the car today.

You all are right. I hung the phone up and didn't think twice. I called around to a few dealers and no one has heard of this "issue." I found a dealership that was more than happy to take my money. So in 6-7 weeks I will be SMGing around So Cali.
