 Color Choice

OK, I'm ready to be flamed by all of the oldtimers on this forum. We are getting ready to ED order an E60 2007 550i in Olivine Green with the Beige dakota leather interior.

I know alot of you will say that is a strange color. Our local dealer had one in that color combination with an SMG and we loved the color combo. It's not really green in the sunlight. It's more of a gold color in direct sunlight. We just didn't want to fall into the norm of ordering a white or silver one (we see way too many of those colors).

Our '03 530i is Titanium Grey (which I love), but we have had one in that color and wanted something different. Our daughters just bought two new cars (1-'06 BMW 330i, 1-'06 Honda Accord) in silver, so we liked the silver gray mettalic, but didn't want another silver based vehicle in the family.

I would like some input from all of you on the color combo. Please just be gentle on the newbie and know that I value my wifes opinion.

No worries! The most important thing is that YOU like the color, not what we think!

Bravo to you! I am always happy to hear about a non-silver/black BMW color choice from someone. I'll agree the car looks good in those colors but there are a zillion of them in that color: B O R I N G !!

My personal choice of colors to get is:

Amethyst Grey with Auburn interior.

However, the wife isn't buying it so Monaco Blue with Auburn is the most likely color combo we'll get. I still need to get her to see the Amethyst Grey in person but the color is difficult to find.

Oh, the Olivine...we both sort of passed on that color but I still say Bravo! to you!

Thanks 99,

I have seen the Amethyst Gray at East Bay BMW. It was on a 525i. I'm sorry to say, but we thought it stunk up the lot. It's a muddy dirt brown. I'm not sure where they got the gray from, but we couldn't find it.

I'm currently awaiting delivery of my 2007 525xi in Olivine Green with Beige leather. I decided to go with the Olivine as it is something different than all the black, grey and silver 5-series that are so popular in my area. I like to be diiferent and I personally love the Olivine in the 5 series. I had to order mine as this color is not typically brought into stock by the dealers. In fact I have never seen an Olivine 5 series on the street, only saw a used one on the lot at one of the local dealers.

I say go with the color combo you like.

I thought it was more bronze-like. Did you see it inside or outside? These colors need to be seen in the sun. I may have to contact EBBMW and see if the car is still available! With that unique color, I bet it is gone fast, aye!?

However, I agree, dunno why Grey is even in the name.
