Road Debris Damage my new 530!!! Aargh!!!

So sad!! My new 530i was a casualty of bad road conditions!!!
I only had the car for 2 month and its already has damage
Yesterday I was driving home on the 10W from the 605N and a long curved object flew at my car. I didn't make out the object but it was pretty big.

I couldn't believe it damage 4 part of my car. There was a deep scratch on the front emblem and dent on the lower bumper. It scratch up my hood pretty badly and it wrap around to the passenger fender. It made a dent right where the hood, fender, and the passenger headlight meet which cause the headlight to pop out a little.

I'll post pics later on.
My insurance is going to repair the damage.
Does anyone know of a good body shop in SoCal? I like my car to be correctly and with care.

Tom

Sorry to hear about your mishap. SoCal freeways are ALWAYS an adventure, aren't they. I had a kids backyard plastic slide sail across my lane on the 91W a few months back.

When you whip out that camera, could you snap and post a couple of pix of the black leather/anthracite combination. That is what I have on order, but I wondering if it will be too damn dark in the car. I have seen the photos on E60.NET, but would love to see more, particularly without a flash. Thanks and good luck with your repairs.

Black leather and anthracite look great but that's a personal opinion.

There is a place in Santa Ana that was great. Insurance Collision Center 714-444-3100.

Good Luck

Hi Tom,
My 550i is 5 weeks old and this week alone here in Charlotte NC 3 times on I77 my car has been damaged. This has never happened to me before.

On Monday a golfball sized rock bounced up and put a 1/4" divot in front bumper.

On Tuesday a stone I believe glanced off my hood and put 2 pencil eraser sized chips in the hood.

On Friday what seemed to be a small chunk of tire rubber hit my roof directly above my drivers visor and ripped 2 gashes clean down to the metal.

Worst part is I know NOT to follow closely behind others and especially trucks of ANY kind, and I never commute in heavy rush traffic.

I am so beside myself at the moment that I am VERY SERIOUSLY considering taking about a $7K loss and parting ways with my car.

Maybe you have seen my other posts. This will kind of tell why I am thinking this way.

I wish you and others much netter luck than I have had.

Wished I still had the 996, it wasn't cursed.

Bye

Ace88 -

After the whole alignment/steering wheel thing . . .I thought things were looking up for you . . . I'm saddened to hear your misfortune . . . sometimes, cars are cursed . . .

But I wouldn't give up on the 550 just yet . . .
