My 07 550 is now at the processing center as of yesterday, shouldn't be too long now until it reaches Tischer of Silver Spring. Still hope I enjoy it as much as my Lexus GS, but judging from the owners on this site, I will be blown away. (Still not crazy about the interior when compared with Lexus; for example...will the cup holder hold my AM coffee). But I know its a MUCH better car overall.

Don't hold your breath - my 530xi has been at the VPC in South Carolina since 4/13 (15 days now) and neither BMW NA nor the dealer seems to have any clue as to when it will be shipped to the dealer. The only information I got was through the forums about a strut recall due to which the cars were all being held indefinitely at the VPC. All we can do is wait!

I'm waiting too -- mine has been at the VPC center in New Jersey since it's arrival on 4/18....
Does anyone know anything more about whether any cars are being sent on, or are all of them being held captive for an indeterminate time? It'd be easier if there was some time frame, that way I don't keep thinking it's any day now, when it could be another week or more! This s@@#$%s!!!

exmercedesowner-
I'm in the same situation as you. My car was aboard the LIBERTY which arrived on 4-17 at NY/NJ. The car has been at the VPC ever since 04-18-06. The BMW 800 # advised me that 2 weeks at the VPC is quite normal. Since I ordered this way back on 03-04, and its just about the full 8 weeks now, I'm getting rather anxious.

I placed my order about the same time, and it arrived on the Manon on 3/18....I'm not hearing encouraging news about delivery times. From what I've read, there is a backup of several hundred cars in NJ waiting for the rear strut repair. I hope that they prioritize the cars that have been in limbo for a long time. I keep telling myself that it's better that the VPC make the repair before the cars are delivered -- it'd be much more of a hassle having to take your brand new car in for a repair.
I read somewhere that it's a relatively quick repair -- 20 minutes -- but maybe there's a delay with the parts. Hopefully they aren't shipping the parts over.
